Voting rights were never an incentive for doing anything other than voting. Why shouldn't they have voting rights once they served their punishment. Keeping people under an oppressive thumb is way more harmful than allowing felons to vote once they've paid their dues. Why do you think it would be better Keeping these people on the fringes of society rather than helping them become productive members of society? The current system of corrections is a farce and shouldn't be called Department of Correction because it doesn't correct anything, it should be called the Department of future criminal development or Academy of Criminal arts!!!

REGARDING:
"Get used to this type of violent crime"

A crime not involving weapons display or usage?
Something to look forward to as crimes decrease in number.

AND
"now there is no reason to be a law abiding citizen"

Sure there is. The Lord calls for it
(Luke 20:25 - And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.)
and the life of a criminal often separates people from the protections laws are supposed to afford. There is also the increased risk that a criminal will be gunned down by armed citizens or police -- as the law allows.

AND
"Florida voters added an incentive for felons to vote once they’re out"

No incentive, the POSSIBILITY.

Governor Scott had made it nearly impossible. That struck us as unfair, so we overrode him. Personally, I would let them vote while still in prison because most are little less civic minded than those not convicted (and ex president Trump might want to vote).

Get used to this type of violent crime in Florida. This will be happening more often now there are a lot of violent offenders to be released sooner than expected. New sentencing guidelines for violent juvenile offenders made their sentences shorter. Also, Florida voters added an incentive for felons to vote once they're out. So now there is no reason to be a law abiding citizen.... you voted for it, you got it.

I was pur on OxyCodone at 18, poor fella probably doesn't know better, options are so so addicting, I nearly died from them, they make you do stupid things, hoping this kid gets the help he needs.
