this isnt supposed for the county tax collector to pocket 3.4 million dollars, and the unknown people to run it to pocket 4.8 million dollars… isnt this supposed to be for helping people, its evident the county does not even care about the people..

I don’t know of ANYONE that voted for this. When we approached a so called representative on the campaign trail, they could not answer basic questions. What is it for? Where will the money be spent? Who will run the program? This is just another waste of taxpayer money that will go down a rabbit hole.

Sounds like Obamacare. You have to pass it to find out what’s in it.

I did not vote for this either. Could it be it was voted down, but somehow someway “they” wanted it to be passed and guess what, it was passed. I question everything, oops forgot, just get in line and shut up. Funny how everything is upside down now. Oh, I guess the virus ate the flu this year.

What will the salary be for these council members? Is it a part time job like a County Commissioner or is this a full-time job? They should provide more information about the job to potential candidates.
Also, I voted AGAINST this needless council! I agree with Alma & Alex – Parents should be taking care of their own children or quit having them! I heard it will cost the average property owner about $40 a year in taxes – which means those who live in government housing or receive free rental housing pay ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for this! Those of us who responsibly raise/raised their own children have to foot the bill. This should have never passed & I think many voters didn’t educate themselves on what it even is. The next time someone comes up with another of these hair-brained ideas, they should propose an increase in SALES TAX so that EVERYONE gets to fund it – not just us property owners!

William, what is the current/estimated equivalent dollar amount for 0.5 mils in the county? I hope you will be tracking this for years to come so Escambia County residents can see what they are getting for their money.
