The cost of living increased more than twice the rate of S/S Increases over the last 10 years. The government expects seniors Not to keep up with inflation and to live on less and less money with increasing age. Don’t think if you retire and get by reasonably comfortable that this will still be the same 10 years from now. Your buying power shrinks each year by design!!! Their rates increased in October to $29.55 per month and large item collection is an additional fee based on how long it takes to collect the waste. The $29.55 rate includes $20.20 for collection; $4.91 for the landfill fee; $3.04 for Equipment surcharge fee (vehicle replacement) and $1.40 for a fuel surcharge.
