I agree where the truck stopped was way passed where it should have been. Appears to me it was still moving when struck. Look how far the car went after the accident.

For the ones that don’t know….
The truck was sitting perfectly still on 97 at red light. The car turned from 29 onto 97. Cut the corner to sharply and hit the front of the truck. No problem with light. No problem with speed. Just a human error.
And before anyone says anything, yes I saw the accident

Lowering the speed limit won’t help. The speed limit is 55 through Molino, if you do 55 there, you get run over by other cars and trucks. NO ONE DOES 55 THROUGH MOLINO, many be 65 to 80. We need more police working the North end of the country. DO NOT DEFUND THE POLICE…ADD MORE MONEY AND POLICE..STATE AND LOCAL.

People can say what they want but, the traffic light at 97 and, the new one at Molino Rd. is neeed, maybe they will help slow down some of the traffic between the two, and there are times when I wonder if I’ll ever get across 29 at Molino Rd., a lot of people don’t like them but , I Do! People need to get their eyes on the Road, and off every thing else!

Here they go again blaming the intersection ! Folks the problem lies with YOU not the intersection . Blows my mind how so many accidents happen on a wide open 4 lane Hwy. I’ve been using this intersection for 30 yrs with no issues & so can everyone else if they slow down & stop getting in a hurry . No wonder insurance is through the roof

ONCE AGAIN – NO RIGHT ON RED
traffic coming from Atmore (hwy97) meeting hwy 29 should not be able to make a right turn on red AND of course, another gas station store on the other corner! SMART

Folks are not paying attention as most have said. Just after the last accident at that intersection I came off Crabtree Rd headed to 29. As I started to turn I happened to look toward traffic coming south on 29. The light turned green to cross over 29 to Molino when I saw a large Nissan SUV coming south & blew right thru the red light. Thankfully no one had started to go. So No their eyes are not on the road. The light there was a good idea. It’s folks distraction that’s the problem. The light at 29 & Molino Rd is needed.

Stop and go isn’t the problem, looking at your phone while driving is the problem. No way you can miss a huge garbage truck stopped in front of you if you are actually looking. I see people straight staring at their lap while cruising down the road ALL THE TIME.
