Yet the FDOT apparently is refusing to move forward in the solution that would enable people to travel between Gulf Breeze and Pensacola that would reduce travel time by 2 hours per round trip. A passenger ferry service would expedite daily commutes, reduce carbon footprints, and make both areas more readily accessible. Shane in you FDOT!

"Additional improvements are underway as construction has begun to widen 2,000 feet of northbound and southbound S.R. 281 south of the I-10 interchange"

I believe the FDOT and I have different definitions for the term "construction". I believe to the FDOT, construction means the entire process including going out for bids, pulling permits, etc. To me, construction means we are moving dirt, pouring asphalt, and getting it done. To date, no actual work to widen Avalon BLVD south of I-10 has occurred.

Any word on who is paying for this? Makes me upset to think that taxpayers might have to foot the bill for this negligence.
