Thank you William for the update. I am very sorry to hear someone lost their life. There was no ambulance while I was there but maybe it was behind the building. Communication to the public would have been key during this time. I will now extract foot from mouth.

Ref 24 hour drop box: “left by midnight, November 30, in a 24-hour drop box available at all locations” –

I drove from Nine Mile Road to the Marcus Point Office on “W” Street on Friday only to find the drop off box was locked up & secured with a strap and padlock so nothing could be dropped in!! (knew the office would be closed, but wanted to drop my payment off in the box). Tried to pay on-line and they wanted a $14.00 + convenience fee for a credit or debit card which defeats the purpose of paying early. But you could use an “e-check” for no fee??? Not something a lot of residents are familiar with.

Sorry to read of the passing of a fellow resident in the Molino office.

Why would anyone drive an hour to the tax office? It literally took me less than 5 minutes paying mine online with an E-check.

Since there are limited days at the end of November to pay your YOUR imposed taxes you could at least warn everyone that your going to close down an office in the middle of the day for an hour and a half. There were folks who drove an hour to the Molino office this week only to find it closed with no reason listed anywhere. For all we know everyone was inside eating turkey. If there was a legitimate reason put it out on your signs at least so we can grieve, if necessary or whatever, with you. If your planning to close let everybody know your planning to close.
