There is so much debris from hurricane Sally along that part of the highway in that area I’m not surprised that someone could have not known it was a person they hit. Lots of the tree debris is actually in the street right of way. Only the driver knows what really happened

GREAT IDEA for Public Safety.
If the maunfacturers are not putting the VIN# in the mirrors that is an Outstanding Idea and well worthy of consideration.
While it’s not prove WHO was driving it would identify the vehicle and owner if properly licensed.

I think I saw this man. I made quick turnaround trip to Cantonment yesterday morning & I saw him walking. This is such a tragedy. Why can’t people be responsible! I’m praying for him.

If FHP has the full mirror, it is very possible they can locate the vehicle by its VIN#. I believe some manufacturers actually place the VIN# inside the side mirrors… maybe just for the purpose of identifying run away drivers.
