This is assault and battery with a deadly weapon. I imagine the victim has exaggerated the details. The KKK has not been a threat for years. Both these men knew each other. I imagine it had something to do with the girl. All these people claiming KKK, don’t know what they talking about. They should of been around 40-50 years ago when blacks did have to worry about the KKK.

So there must be a lot of hate crimes in chicago, baltimore, detroit, etc because I’m sure there’s numerous occasions of racial slurs being uttered prior to assaults in those cities. I’m assuming the hate crime charges will be applicable in this case if they do find proof of the kkk relationship referenced in the article. This sounds primarily like a domestic issue. I’d be surprised if the hate crime charges stick.

So my thoughts are why such low bond? I looked the charges up that he has been charged with and a much higher bond amount should have been set. Seems to me like something or someone is working the inside for this guy he has had multiple chances and been to prison and a 5,000 dollar bond dont seem right to me. J/W

This appears to be a domestic matter not a hate crime, unless using a racial slur qualifies it as such. The parties know each other, the perp dated the victim’s ex, they previously associated with each other and were friendly. Some kind of falling out happened.

Arrested on two outstanding warrants, “booked into the Escambia County Jail on charges of hate crime related aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and hate crime related robbery with a deadly weapon.”
$5,000 bond? What’s a person got to do to get a free all expense paid stay at the County Hilton? Maybe they are over booked.
