I am so sorry this happened and hope the boys will be ok. I am sure that it was tramatic for the young man that hit them. Why would a 14 & 15 year old be out walking the streets at that time of night. Parents you need to know where your “kids” are. I could see where this could easily have happened as many times people are not wearing reflective clothing etc…when they are walking or biking at night. This is very dangerous and it only takes a slight swerve.

I typed in my search browser – Curfew for minors in Pensacola Fl and was a very long article. I found a date for this article – 1982.

After further reading, more articles on this stated that the ordinance was unconstitutional for the reasons of invasion of personal rights and liberties. Too bad there are excuses to knock down something for the greater good.

I can honestly say – there needs to be a curfew ordinance in place.

To the man who thought it was a hit and run no it was not we checked to see if we could find them and we couldn’t so we pulled over to where we thought they were at and called we were the first to call about it and then in minutes we seen the ambulance 30 feet in front of us I myself couldn’t walk their cause I was covered in glass we had no clue what to do in this situation but to wait for law enforcement to come and talk to us about it. Again don’t misinform others it’s rude and makes you sound ignorant.

There is no curfew ordinance in Escambia County or Pensacola, with the exception of the ability to enact a curfew in the county during a State of Emergency.

The wording you cited was a part of a City of Pensacola ordinance was struck down as unconstitutional in the early 1980s.
