Nope. They made lots of Datsuns before 1984; I owed two 1979 ones, a 210 sedan and a B210 station wagon (67 hp). Nice little cars.

Which brings to mind the first Nissan I saw was a pickup owned by Jimmy Godwin. (He can probably tell you which year.) He was at the river past the Bluff Springs gravel lakes. He showed me all the features, ending with, “It’s a nice ‘ne.”

“Hence the name.”

It didn’t take him but a second or so to realize the similarity between “Nice ‘ne.” and “Nissan,” and my silly sense of humor.

Nissan bought DAT motor company around 1934. They changed the name from Datson to Datsun and made cars under the name until 1986 or so, then made them under the company name of Nissan. (Somewhat like how General Motors has GMC and Chevrolet. Quite often the parts are interchangeable. Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager, Chrysler Town & Country.)

I just mention this because Nissan is or was making Datsuns again in the past few years. I doubt Nissan has a Nissan equivalent to their Datsun GO, but might be wrong.

Too many people are being hit along the side of the road. They need to be wearing white clothing or reflectors. People need to be paying attention when they are driving during the nighttime.

So the Poor old man walked in front of the Xterra, making it the poor old man’s fault. The xterra fled the scene. I wonder what kind of reason for fleeing they had. Was the Xterra stolen? Or maybe the driver had warrants. Maybe the Xterra had drugs or other illegal items in it. Maybe the driver was DUI. The Xterra will probably show up abandoned somewhere. Or it might be in another state by now.

That Datsun shouldn’t be hard to find. Not many of those auto’s left on the road. Poor quality. It’s in someone’s backyard covered with a FEMA tarp in mommy’s garage

So senseless! The person must have been high on something or driving on revoked license. If he had stopped, even though he was high etc, the charges could be less. Now big felony leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
