It is essentially no different than if we were attacked by a different enemy and the government could not provide the leadership to help protect us. Medical experts are crying out what “should” be done but those things can only be effective if they occur on a national level with a national plan and resulting directives. We have zero of that. One only need look at our progress on defeating or controlling this virus in comparison to other countries. We are handling it at best at the level of a third world country. Perhaps people will finally understand if they didn’t already how serious our responsibility is in voting and the absolute necessity of putting competent, capable people into public office. I won’t get into party and politics because ultimately that is irrelevant. Political parties are of their very nature contradictory and defeating. However, the tenants and the individuals that wear the banner of that politics is more than real. And their failures in a situation as we are seeing with this pandemic is a matter of life and death. In summary folks, we are totally on our own. The smartest thing any of us can do is look at the facts, the numbers as this great newspaper provides daily, and the recommendations of medical experts and workers...and act solely on that. Even minimal consideration of what government leaders especially at the highest level are saying is not only confusing, but apparently confusing with a purpose that has absolutely nothing to do with defeating and surviving a pandemic. Be smart people. Don’t act like lemmings led by sociopathic and incapable government leaders who very willingly are nudging you toward the cliff. We are the solution if we only listen to those who are the real experts regarding this type enemy, and we act only and absolutely on their guidance.
