David, how did you get from DCF (non judicial agency) to ineffective justice system? Well, although we agree on the DCF part, the legal bashing was uncalled for. First, Judges don’t MAKE laws, they UPHOLD the law. Statutes of each state set out the sentence for each and every crime. The State prosecutes, the Defense attorney defends the defendant. Anyway, if the defendant is adjudicated guilty by the Judge after a trial, or entering a plea, when the defendant is sentenced it all comes down to the sentence allowed by the Statutes AND the defendant’s prior history which adds points that can boost up the sentence. Unfortunately, none of your post. or this mine matter. Someone knew these young people had no business raising ANOTHER child and yet this poor child suffered. THAT’S where the blame lies.

Until the judicial system stops slapping hands these instances will never stop..the fact one of them is out on bond speaks volumes. There is no fear or respect for the law…NONE!! The need to make parents who have been investigated or arrested for child abuse should have to work as hard to keep/get their children as those couples that want to adopt have to go through!! Prayers for complete healing for that precious baby girl!

Them using drugs is irrelevant. As a recovering addict I couldnt harm a child no matter how high or dope sick I was. Never crossed my mind. Fry both of them

Both being arrested seems weird. Why wouldn’t they just attest the person who pulled the childs legs from the person who originally possessed the child. Seems fairly easy to figure out. If both are accusing one or the other of pulling the childs legs then I suppose both should be arrested.

I hope they throw the book at the guilty one. He looks high. Hope the baby has a good & safe family member who can take care of it & no permanent problems with its legs. It’s a shame drugs, alcohol & having a good time become more important than the kids. They shouldn’t have kids & get fixed if they feel that way.

Maybe it should be a privilege to bring another human on the planet instead of a given. Its time the unborn have rights. I would not want to be born if I had parents like these two, Yet so many babies have suffered just from being born…what a crying shame.

I agree Debbie! If one child has been permanently removed due to abuse or neglect, a person should not have the opportunity to inflict harm on another innocent, defenseless child!
