@Lyssa--My husband and I both have health factors that may cause us to perish if we contract the virus. However, we will continue to not wear masks because it's our right to choose. On the other hand, we only rarely venture into public as we have long since tried to separate from a filthy Liberal, urban society. Trying to live as we were raised in this rural environment. At the end of the day, if you want to wear a mask to protect yourself, I see nothing wrong with it. However, don't tell me what I should do to protect you. You worry about you, I'll worry for me.

REGARDING:
"@Tabby Wearing a mask doesn’t prevent COVID but I could slow down transmission"

Not for certain, no, But there are case reports STRONGLY suggesting sometimes it does:

"The results of the Missouri case study provide further evidence on the benefits of wearing a cloth face covering. The investigation focused on two hair stylists — infected with and having symptoms of COVID-19 — whose salon policy followed a local ordinance requiring cloth face coverings for all employees and patrons. The investigators found that none of the stylists’ 139 clients or secondary contacts became ill, and all 67 clients who volunteered to be tested showed no sign of infection."
https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2020/p0714-americans-to-wear-masks.html

There are other studies showing use of masks has protected wearers who got COVID-19 anyway, that they tended to have milder symptoms and higher survival rates. At a guess, imagine getting 10,000 viruses from a sick person versus getting 100 through an imperfect mask. Your body can fight 100 at the brginning easier than 10,000.

Another thing (I forgot). Why isn't there a safety glasses on face shield mandate ? The same droplet that you can breathe in can get in your eyes. Which is the reason teachers will be issued face shields. I guess it's ok as long as idiots feel better about themselves for having the herd mentality.

My husband was refused service at a merchant for not wearing a mask. That's their right if it were a privately held business. We don't own masks. Haven't worn any. Know nobody with or had virus. Know nobody who has even been tested. That being said, masks should be a personal choice. If you wear a mask, me wearing one should not matter to you. I made it a point after my husband was denied service to count how many people wore masks inappropriately, I lost count. I also lost count of how many people wore single use masks that clearly state on the box that they won't protect from Covid. So this mask issue is purely a head buried in the sand feel good remedy. After all, a person will believe whatever they "want" to believe. What kills me the most are the idiots from the same household riding in a vehicle together with masks on (-:

Some hospitals are selecting death panels to pick who they think can survive. This is America, this should not be happening. All government resources need to be implemented now. This is no joke people, we have seen nothing yet.

People who don’t want to wear masks for whatever reasons should at least give blood. Most of not all will check your donation for COVID antibodies. You can find out if you were already exposed and didn’t know it. As to whether you can get it again or how long the antibodies last that’s not set yet but flaunting your potentially asymptomatic breath all over others just to be “free” and potentially KILLING someone you pass in the store just to be “free” the least you can do is donate blood and help SAVE someone.

PROVERBS 27:12- "The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty."

In other words, wash your hands, keep social distancing and wear your mask.at least till you see a result, be it positive or negative. Why all the fuss, this is such a small thing to ask.
