Robinson declared a state of emergency in the city on March 18, which unlocked emergency powers to hire workers, suspend ordinances or policies and make other emergency management decisions. Under the city charter, the mayor can only unilaterally declare an emergency for 30 days, and the council must approve any extension.

Whats stupid is I bet most of the people posting anti-public health and safety don’t understand how America became #1 in failure regarding the pandemic. This is not about masks and health it’s about compliance to idiots who have no idea what the hell to do so they make up rules to try to look like they are doing something. I don’t understand the problem here. If you want to wear a mask, this doesn’t apply to you. If you don’t, all you have to do is say you have a medical reason for not wearing it. You have no obligation to present proof to businesses or LEO. Says it right on the City website.

I think the idea is that municipal government lacks authority over higher levels of government. They can and do set their own regulations. But it has been pointed out this ordinance has no teeth so fretting over it is pointless.

I wonder if this is what happens when some have no sports to occupy their minds.
