Florida State Park campgrounds have been open since the beginning of May. I do not understand why the majority of campsites at the State Forest (Bear, Hurricane & Karick Lakes) campgrounds are STILL CLOSED! Their sites are far beyond 6 ft apart. Many like myself, pay a great deal of money for RVs with their own facilities. It is ridiculous that only 9 of 40 campsites are open at a campground that does not permit swimming!

I can not come to terms with this. We (the people) know this a massive hoax. Yes, we've had a massive uptick in cases. President Trump actually predicted this would happen. The CDC, WHO and 3M all have stated that masks are ineffective against the virus. Which means it has not stop a single transmission. Direct sunlight kills the virus almost instantly, an 82° temp kills it within two seconds. I just got back from a trip from the Keys 3 weeks ago. Masks are mandatory almost everywhere south of St Petersburg. But yet....Broward and Dade/Miami are two of the "seemingly" hardest hit. 33k tests were discovered to be "faulty" here in Florida ...yet ..and I paid attention..well..bevause Im a "big picture" person....and the "positive cases" numbers for Florida DID NOT DROP in relation to this announcement. What I also found odd is that I had made the drive to Munson a week before my trip to the Keys....only to find that it was closed,...so after driving an hour and a half..we drove another hour to go to Navarre beach...which was completely open with people everywhere. But then on my trip a week later, we stopped at Ponce De Leon "State park"...which was completely open,..no masks...no distancing. As a retired Navy veteran...I feel Im entitled to know who is making these assinine decisions to close one park but not another, to force face masks in some counties but not others, to close a bar where alcohol is served and only adults are allowed (most adults wash their hands now) and alcohol literally kills %99.99 of germs, viruses and bacteria...but yet...Wal-Mart...where people bring their children that touch EVERYTHING (I know because I have a 4 and 5 yr old and Im constantly getting on them about"touching stuff". So based on what Ive read, there is no "logical" reason Lake Krul should be closed. ...(Whenever THAT HAPPENED...its been "Munson lake" since as far back as I remember in the 70's)...So who is the actual person made THAT decision? The person who feels their knowledge and medical training is superior to that of the CDC, WHO and President Trump? Who at the moment is insisting that schools reopen. This is a "political closure" . Nothing more. Because sure not based on empirical evidence.

@ Joseph Lollie regrading who to contact for camping refunds... it will depend on which campground you had reservations for. It is our experience in the past to contact the reservation site where the reservations were made/paid. A lot of these campgrounds (not all) are done through Reserve America, Good Sam’s or the Federal Campground websites. I have always been able to track down a customer service phone number through the reservation website. Some smaller campgrounds that don’t use Reserve America, Good Sam’s, or Federal reservation websites, you just have to call the actual campground. I have had to do that with Magnolia Branch in Atmore. Hope this information helps get you pointed in the right direction.
