This is ridiculous. We need recycling now. Our children will suffer the consequences of the decisions made in 2020. 2020: The year we could have made changes… and didn’t. 2020: the year we can still turn things around. We were given dominion over the earth to CARE FOR IT.
Council—Have you seen the dumpsters located around the underserved? These nasty, unsanitary, Republic Waste dumpsters? Republic Waste admit that the dumpsters are their responsibility and property to maintain, and yet every apartment complex here in Century has dumpster bins beyond appalling!! I mean, it is hard to walk to the car some days bc the dumpsters smell that rotten, crawling with flies and maggots, on the inside and outside!. I have called REPEATEDLY, they said it would be fixed in 2 weeks, (while the apartments management said “it can’t be done” so I called myself. Repeatedly. Still have no replacement dumpster.
The citizens of Century deserve better living conditions., I know I have voiced my opinion repeatedly in one on one conversations about recycling to council Members.
Bottom line: Republic Waste doesn’t even maintain their own property. Royal American and Republic Waste definitely don’t care about the town of Century. And the cost to future generations is higher than any money to be profited from this contract!!!!

Santa Rosa and Century both decided not to allow ECUA to bid on their contracts. What ever happened to fair bidding with the process. Santa Rosa change the bidding at the end without allowing ECUA to bid on the same changes. Where is the state overseers on this

I’m really not sure how these council members are thinking, but it doesn’t make sense not to have a garbage pickup without having a service as well to rid furniture, television and pretty much all the stuff that’s going to bea problem to move for the citizens of Century. Do y’all really have sensible leaders on the board? My granddaughter can see that this is a no-brainer….

Century should take that old lumber building or helicopter plant. Fix it up, divide it into several other smaller buildings and rent them out. Make a whole business district

Hear, hear Century, it’s about what best for residents, not profit for the kingdom’s rulers. And so here we go again, Century getting in the way of itself. You have to ask the question why didn’t the town see bids from other companies, like ECUA. Control, that’s why. ECUA does it’s own billing, and would cut the town’s money making ability. But from the article, ECUA provides superior service to Republic’s. It appears that the only option for Century residents to rid themselves of unwanted large household items like couches, mattresses, appliances, etc. is to put them on the porch or toss them in the yard and woods because there’s no pick-up for those. Take a drive about the town, look and see these items piled around not far from where they toiled their lives away. LOL!
