Are some of y’all serious right now about not feeding the children? None of these kids asked to be put into the environment they have to endure on a daily basis. Believe it or not they carry these stresses around also. Some of us are quick to give panhandlers money because they write ” I need a beer” on a sign. Kids are proud also and don’t want ppl to know their hardships either. Love is why we ALL were put here to do for one another. Let’s take care of OUR children OUR future by making sure they eat and stop wasting so much time and effort on nonsense. Stay safe and much love to you all

@Elizabeth. Where tax money goes isn’t like a buffet. We don’t get to choose the individual services we want and ignore the rest. People who don’t drive still benefit from roads and bridges. Taxes are about what we can do in communities to promote the common good. During a time when many people cant work, some getting no benefits, feeding children should be a priority.

Hellen Caro ? Perdido pays some of the highest taxes in this county. So, these parents have to pay for others kids as well as their own. That’s not cool.

@Elizabeth yes school lunches come out of EVERYONE’S tax dollars. These children are our future and even though you did not carry a child the child you feed today could be the nurse that saves your life in 10 years. People need to stop thinking about the I and focus on the WE that makes up a community. Unless you do not rely on any sort of human interaction (which you have internet access so you do in some way shape or form) these children are part of your future. Let’s not be petty about $1 of your taxes.

I support feeding anyone who is hungry, school children are at the mercy of us being a human being and helping them
I support what ever it takes to do this…
Majority on here forgot they were once doing the same thing….throwing stones in glass houses…and acting like on this forum you are above it all.
Take care of the children..the rest of you can stay sitting on the couch picking your teeth with your EBT cards….BTW IS THE SAME THING..people helping people

@Shannon,, Wow Really lady are you living under a rock I see it everyday children as young as kindergarten age serving themselves what do you think all them scoops and tongs are for on the food line,, Not only do they serve themselves they are encourage to pick up their own food and yes I am well aware That the cafeteria workers wear hair nets and gloves.

I think this is wonderful. I didn’t see a lot of the ones complaining about the free lunches and breakfasts the schools were providing when the pandemic forced the kids out of school. That was for the entire community. I’m happy to have my tax dollars at work where it benefits others. Nor did I see where they complained about the free money everyone got. Unfortunately sometimes these are the only good meals the kids get. This is a great decision!

Just me I’ve never seen kids serve themselves it’s always been lunch ppl serving the kids food or picking trays already prepared. And lunch ppl had gloves and hair nets. I have never seen kids serve themselves
