okay, 1% death rate for a predicted 30-50 million cases in U.S. after all is said and done... that's 300,000 to 500,000 dead.

yea, that sounds fine.

REGARDING:
"And our Plan for Next Year’s FLU IS WHAT ?"

Vaccination for those who wish to avoid it, antivirals for those who catch it.

(This is hoping the confused leader doesn't still have you thinking COVID-19 is the flu, influenza. Just because he can't understand it doesn't mean you shouldn't either.)

REGARDING:
"Tell me again why we are killing our economy, mandating face diapers, cancelling school, barring worship services, etc. for this??"

If you are wearing diaper for masks, that is part of the problem, but go ahead, it's better than nothing. We don't really know the death rate in part because we don't know how many have been exposed, but also how many its effects may kill in a few months. We have nearly overloaded our healthcare capacity to treat the sick. If we do, then people will definitely die who could have been saved.

You obviously think of it as something you have then get over. Some take much longer to get over.

Consider https://www.businessinsider.com/head-icu-bergamo-italy-epicentre-lifelong-damage-recovered-covid-patients-2020-7
"we discovered that it is a systemic illness with vessel damage in the whole body with renal involvement, cerebral involvement. So we are seeing other acute manifestations of renal failure that require dialysis, or stroke, and then acute myocardial infarction, so a lot of complications or other manifestations of the virus....Respiratory problems are regularly observed, which can include acute respiratory distress syndrome, asthma, and what some doctors call "post-COVID lung disease."

"A July 8 study from University College London observed delirium, rare brain inflammation, and strokes in recovered COVID-19 patients.

"Issues with the gut, heart, and kidneys have also been reported after recovery"

AND THAT IS FOR THE SURVIVORS.

According to https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
There have been
14,852,700 cases of COVID-19 reported. Of them
9,519,903 cases had an outcome:
8,906,690 (94%) have been declared Recovered / Discharged
613,213 (and counting) (6%) ended in death already.
5,332,797 active infections are being treated
99% of them are mild AT THIS TIME.
There were 205,348 new cases registered yesterday, 222,669 two days ago.

Ignoring it seems unreasonable. Going out of your way to infect others seems thoughtless and even cruel.

Escambia County, Florida

Of the 61 DEATHS in Escambia County, 43 HAVE BEEN LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY residents or staff.

That means ONLY 18 PEOPLE were reported to have died NOT IN HIGH RISK LONG-TERM CARE Facility. = 29.51%.

SO THE CITY REQUIRES EVERYONE, EXCEPT GOV'T WORKERS.. Humm, to Wear a Mask !
Businesses Close and People lose jobs for 18 people !

I am sure the "RESIDENTS" in the Long Term Care all had PreExisting Conditions.. and NOT ALL Died JUST BECAUSE OF THE COVID Virus !

* *
Santa Rosa County, Florida

There have been 13 deaths in Santa Rosa County, Florida, 7 of those at the Blackwater River Correctional Facility and 2 in a LONG - TERM CARE facilities.

Again.. ONLY 4 PEOPLE .. NOT IN HIGH RISK AREAS.. SUPPOSEDLY Died of otherwise.. With 9 either in Prison or Long-Term Care. = 30.77%

Lets Destroy the economy and people's lives.. Close Schools, etc.. for a total of 18 + 4 = 22 lives in what 6.65 MONTHS. = 3.31/month in 2 Counties.

How many people died in Auto Crashes, Murder or Drownings in these 2 counties in the same 6.65 months?

What has been the COST PER LIFE lost.. in Wagers, Businesses and Damage to Others Health.. because of the Over Reaction by Government Officials ?

And our Plan for Next Year's FLU IS WHAT ?

@Q-pid. The death rate for the flu is about 0.1%. 1%, which is a low estimate for covid-19's death rate is ten times 0.1%. If that is an acceptable death rate to you, for something that is highly contagious, then that's your right to feel that way, even though I disagree. I do find it odd though that you would be so opinionated on something that you obviously haven't researched very much.

The death rate for cases testing positive is just 1% for both Escambia County and the whole of Florida. That means this virus has a 99% survival rate if you test positive for it. Tell me again why we are killing our economy, mandating face diapers, cancelling school, barring worship services, etc. for this?? That’s probably a lower percentage than even flu and we already vaccinate for that. Is this really about a virus or maybe something else?
