Regardless of whether an inmate will be around the public; ALL the CO’s and other staff WILL be. We have followed State mandates and cleaning routines dictated by FLDOC and we’ve kept our infection rates low despite close quarters, but as the virus invades more of NWFL more exposure to potentially ill private citizens is unfortunately inevitable. It is important that staff and inmates alike continue to practice heightened cleaning and social distancing guidelines. Inmates are someone’s loved one and still a human being( son husband father uncle wife daughter mom et. cetera)despite their status as an inmate. Staff are loved ones of community members as well and when we leave work and go home our behaviour and habits towards following Covid19 safety guidelines matter in keeping ourselves other staff and the inmate populace from suffering an outbreak.

Please consider the phrase “Two more staff members.” Yes, they will.

And many inmates complete their sentences and rejoin us. Until then, they are our responsibility — not a burden we wanted, but one we took for the good of others.

Hi i have a son in prison Walton ci im afraid for him everyday if they don’t have hard charges why can’t they send them mens home to be with they family my son supposed to be released in March next year i don’t see it beening no problem for them to do that thanks

re:JW, these 144 inmates are being quarantined because they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19. These 144 inmate have not tested positive. They are not included in Escambia’s numbers for new cases.

EXACTLY. These numbers go to the number of new infected for Escambia and helps freak people out. None of these people will be around us.
