The best explanation I’ve heard to those that shout black likes matter and those that argue all lives matter is this.

Yes. All lives matter but saying black lives matter is not an exclusion of the other races.

The fire department is concerned about all houses. All houses matter but they only go to the ones on fire. With the problems facing the black community from racism to unemployment and even crime their house is on fire.

I am reading all these comments hoping that maybe just one person will address and explain why black lives only matter when it is a white on black crime. While all these protests/riots are going on numerous black (and white) people have been killed. Some because of the riots and others in “normal” day to day crimes. These horrible killings barely get reported casually – like it is an expected everyday occurrence.
Why does the black community not demand that drug shootings, gang killings are plastered in big letters all over and kept in the news for weeks to get attention?

Black lives matter. Allow me to share words by American Hero Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:
“Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love… Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the white man, but to win his friendship and understanding.”
To my black community: you have won my friendship, loyalty, love, and prayers. Since Rev. Dr. MLK, Jr, these brown and black brothers and sisters have asked for the white man or woman’s hand in friendship. Now it’s your turn to ask for the black community’s friendship. They deserve our friendship AND OUR TOTAL SUPPORT. They deserve better than this nation they were given. If white privilege doesn’t exist, then why are any of you who are opposed to BLM so scared to lose it?

Anyone who doesn’t understand what Black Lives Matter means at this point, just have no intention on changing their thought process. So what we have to do is just leave those who are ignorant to the BLM movement behind. When you see a Black man killed in front of a camera, there should be no human being alive to think that those actions are acceptable. Black Lives do Matter and the world is watching the United States treat black men and women as less than human.

I heard this explained in a great way … the person said “right after hurricane katrina, if I had said ‘new orleans matters’ would you have responded with ‘all cities matter?’ No one is saying your life doesn’t matter. Of course all lives matter, but saying that doesn’t bring any attention to the issue at hand.

Will be interesting to see these communities handle crime on their own as BLM demands politicians abolish the police. Will be interesting to watch Minneapolis with no police force. Wonder if any investors will invest there? I wonder if any minority business owners will just allow thieves to steal their store away since there will be no police there to arrest them. I wonder if all these protesters will never call 911 again and simply handle problems on their own? Please do and save us taxpayers some money. Thanks
