Without law you have no society. For those of you living on Mars the left are wanting to defund the police. How about all those business owners in the areas where those thug/protesters are destroying their livelihoods and the police are being hamstringed and cant use deadly force against the thugs. Police have a difficult job and do not need to be micro managed by mayors, govenors, or a public that doesn’t have a clue. The day everyone got camera phones police are tried and convicted before the TRUE facts come out, not to mention all the fake news. How about the next time you see a cop walk up to him or her and tell them you appreciate the job they’re doing.

REGARDING:

It is true that most who are pushing that are not wanting to get rid of Police departments altogether. It is true that SOME actually do want that, no matter how small a number they are. (I heard them on NPR, so it’s official.)

The problem is, however, if you live by slogans, you die by slogans.
That slogan does not imply reduce funding but end it.
It does not imply redirecting funding to possibly more effective systems but ending it.

Also, it goes against the common idea that if you pay more for a given job, you have more candidates and can be more selective and if you train people better, they will do a better job.

Thus, the slogan is inherently flawed and unwise in that it requires others to do the work of getting the “REAL” message rather than what is said.

(I am reminded of someone saying she is sick and tired of people having to “explain” what our glorious leader “REALLY” meant to avoid it being the outright lie it obviously is. This applies to others also who think they need to explain away what a sign or slogan says.)
