Speaking as a Class of 2020 Graduate, we in fact DO deserve a ceremony. We’ve watched every other class celebrate and be celebrated but when it’s our turn everything was taken from us because of something we could not control. No, we do NOT want a stadium graduation.. we do NOT want to sit on a field, in grass with our nice heels and dresses, with hot weather maybe even rain ruining our hair and makeup. The Bay Center is not the only option but it is a tradition, it isn’t the only option but some of us want to experience it just like every other graduating class. Why should we be treated differently? It’s bad enough we never went back to school after spring break, bad enough we never got a prom or last week of school. All of the senior events we looked forward to are now gone. A lot of us worked hard these four years to be able to finally cross that stage like every one else, give us this moment.. let us HAVE OUR MOMENT. Thank you.

I don’t have a graduate this year. I do believe this is one day that should be celebrated. I am thankful we have Mr Thomas that cares about all of his students. He is putting a lot of effort in to make this happen. Congratulations all seniors job well done.

Actually, they are not entitled to anything. Nobody is entitled to the impossible.

We would LIKE to give them anything we can which is good for them — and sometimes just not that bad for them, but that doesn’t mean everything we could give them is good for them or that we can. To be honest, we did a poor job of raising them if they insist on something likely to kill their grandparents.. I doubt that happened all that often; most of them are good kids.

It’s not the kids fault this epidemic happened but also know they’re still entitled to receive what every other graduating class has enjoyed. It dont have to be a long drawn out ceremony due to the social distance rule but give them what they deserve and work hard to reach all these years. Minimize the number of guest per student, distant seating arrangement, everyone wear safety gear,etc. let’s just make this happen and get it over. As a parent I wanna say thank you for finally coming up with a date. We just need to know exactly what date esp for Pine FOREST HIGH.

Venue decisions can also be proportionate to other decisions that will lead to drop outs. Without the ability to adjust and overcome, the school board can not address other changes that have affect on the kids and help reduce drop out rates. If they cant change something simple and minor, how can we expect them to change other practices and methods that would help keep a kid in school?

No matter where the seniors graduate from, just be thankful they are. These days there too many drop outs. Don’t dwell on the venue but that they made it.

Why is the Bay Center the only answer? Each school has a field, each could have had am open air graduation. Which board member gets the kickback?

Why don’t the High Schools have graduation in their football stadiums. My class did in the 70’s.
