I don’t think people realize how much sanitizing is done in a salon. Every year updates on new germs ,bacteria and the means to control or destroy them. Every cosmetologist in America has been educated with these procedures Their cosmetology career begins with salon sanitation,continuing education “Sanitation and sterilization in the salon industry”

No one has to go the beaches, go out or go to a hairdresser if they don’t want to. However let hair salons that want to open and people who want to go go to them. We are losing our liberty with this lock down insanity. Walmarts have far more customers than Mom and Pop stores yet they are not permitted to open.
We are not children and should be trusted to make our own decisions as to where we go and what we do. The lock down was to protect hospitals from being overrun NOT to stop the virus. In New York 66% of cases are among those who sheltered in place so how does this make sense.
Please give people back their right to make decisions foe themselves.

Did you read that 11 of the 15 Escambia County deaths came from long term living facilities….NOT because of beaches and other stuff opening back up. The tactics of using fear to control people is getting old. Those that want to get out and about…fine…whatever do it! If you are freaking out about it then stay holed up at home. It’s actually more dangerous for dental hygienists to return to work compared to those in the hair and nail business!

This guy is all wrong. My sister is a dental hygienist and is about to put her life at risk because of no common sense. But a barber can’t open? Everything is backwards including the governor.

It’s clear that the governor is just playing “follow the leader” with the other states. In the press conferences/briefings, he quotes a pile of stats and does the razzle dazzle for the camera, giving the impression that it’s all so very scientific, but it’s not. A barber/stylist can prep for the appointment by hand washing and wearing a mask, and have the client do the same. The stylist stands behind the client, so there is another separation layer there. This is less risky than the restaurant openings and store openings.

I hope gyms open soon too. several in our area are at the breaking point. If we can survive in Walmart and other big stores ..gyms can’t be any more unsafe. Open places up and let us adults decide whether we want to go there or not.

Meanwhile dentist and hygienist are going back to work this week with limited access to PPE and one of the most dangerous jobs due to the aerosols that we create while working. Plus side for them is they won’t have to refile for unemployment when we all run out of PPE.
