there is no signal in parts of those woods. i was turned around since 8:30 that morning trying to use google maps, when i was younger i’d go down these trails, everything looks different and i had never heard of the trail forks app, i called 911 3 times!! before i could get a hold of a dispatcher and my google maps would not work. even the firemen said they were getting a little twisted using their gps on my location. i am normally prepared, just the one time i get lost i leave my water in the car and took a different path than usual, trust me. nobody wants to be lost without service for that long!!!! it was scary!!

The last time we were out there last week someone told us about the app trailforks. It’s amazing and clearly lists all of the trails and you can see exactly where you are at all times. Just a suggestion for anyone intimidated by these walking trails!!

Oh poor thing!!! I have gotten lost out there as well!! So big and some trails are confusing! Especially on that side!

I live very close to these trails and it is amazing how many people get lost in there, because some of the trails just go in circles. Google Maps has the trails listed on there, but not all exit points are clearly marked. Just use a little common sense and you will be fine.

Not sure what the problem was. It’s not a big area. Maybe she just panicked. It happens. Then again maybe she wanted to meet a fireman. As the scouts say. Be prepared – she wasn’t.

Google maps has all the UWF trails on their map. You can also use the Free Trailforks app so you don’t get lost
