We had significant tree damage at our location. I find it interesting that “straight line winds” caused all this damage, yet when the Escambia County Emergency alert call came in, they identified it as a “TORNADO in our area, take cover immediately.” I heard the roar of the storm as it approached, felt the suction and swirl of the vortex as it tried to take our home apart. It was quick, and moved on within minutes. We as a community are fortunate; no loss of life. So, we rake and cut and pile up the debris, and remember to be Thankful that we were spared.

I live in Cottage Hill, and the way the lightning was flashing, and I heard some hail, and I know I heard the roar of a tornado, I would just about bet there were a few tornadoes touching down, and also judging by how some of the trees were twisted, kind of made think it was a tornado. Thank God no injuries, but you can bet I was doing some praying. I was scared last night, and my dogs and cats, that were inside with me, were freaking out.

Mobile home park on Bush Street off of pine forest was so lucky. Trees were on trailers, it was definitely a tornado. I just wonder why no news agencies reported it at all. Thank goodness nobody was hurt. The sound of a freight train and debris flying everywhere is something I will never forget.

As long as ya’ll call these strong storms and down spouts the county will not call them what they are TORNADOES!!!. We felt the shuddering of our houses, the roar of the whirlling wind of a tornado! I believe there were 2 tornadoes in Cottage Hill. They
Could not be one tornado at McKenzie and Williams Ditch simultaneously. The damage would have been greater for that wide of distance between the two roads. Thank you Lord for protecting us from the damages that we received from these tornadoes!

So glad no one was injured. I am pretty sure there were a few tornadoes around. Hail and high winds. So sorry for any property damage suffered by anyone. But again, thankful no one was hurt.

Just south of old bridge rd on jacks branch rd in cantonment there is a tree down across the road and lines on the ground. The area should be avoided. Crews are not on site at this time.
