Line workers go way out of the way and are to be commended for the great work they do. However Gulf Power has a real problem when it comes to clearing right of ways and getting trees off the lines in the county. I called them 3 months ago to report limbs on wires and was told it was OK! Well I lost power for 14 hours because of those limbs taking down the wires. Hurricane season will be here soon, where are the crews trimming the lines now ahead of the season in the county?

@ mick - thank you for those kind words!

As the wife of a GP linemen. It ticks me off to here stories of when my husband finally makes it home at 1230am this morning after working a long day to hear how some people can be so nasty to these linemen! Literally had someone dog cuss him about how "no good the power company is" and wanted to be a butt about the fact they (GP) needed on their property to restore the power with a simple request of "please keep your dogs away from our work area", only to be met with a butthole, cussing out remark by the resident. I wish my husband could have just walked away and left that crappy person's place without taking care of that problem and went to a different job. Some people really suck! I would have left your butt and went on to the next problem area and got back to you when I was ready!

When we are sitting in the dark, frustrated that the power has gone out, TV down, AC off, we want it back on now. But every time it happens we need to take a pause and think about those folks that are out there in the weather working to restore the power.
Thank you all...
