I live just across the state line and go into Alabama several times a week for several things. Order or not, if everyone had used common sense and did what we were asked to do, it wouldn’t have got to this point! So we all need to take a breath and pray for each other, our community, our leaders (as they are people too), our country and our world! These leaders get criticized either way they turn! God is trying to get our attention!!!

@ too late governor. What would make you happy? The National Guard or the UN going door to door? You would probably think that was doing the bear minimum. Maybe we should put body scanners at everyone’s doors.

So 21 deaths in a state with nearly 5 million people…and she orders a de facto martial law. I wish someone would ask her on what authority she has to do this? Doesn’t anyone else think the response is an extreme disproportion to the threat?

And I know, comparing someone’s life to a business closing isn’t anything close to being the same thing. I’m not comparing the two. I’m merely saying any decision will have consequences and more than likely those making said decisions will get criticized for whatever choice they make. For what it’s worth, I’m considered essential. I have a wife and kids, one of which does have immune system issues (minor). I do what I can to stay safe. But my family needs to be provided for (now and in the future) and there are other people who depend on the work I do.

I do not see this as a late reaction. As you can see, shelter in place orders haven’t been effective in slowing the spread in other states. Can’t blame the governor for allowing us to work as long as possible.
