Bewildered, if kids arent staying isolated, what are their parents doing? Besides, closing schools is not just to protect the kids. Chances are that kids wouldn’t get seriously I’ll, but could pass it to others who would.

ironically by closing the beach to walking….it has put everyone on the bike path!!! Walkers, runners, bicyclists, skateboarders so we are now closer together than apart!!! Insanity!!!

School closing was a necessary precaution…. can you imagine the outrage from parents and lawsuits if the school had not closed! At this point we can’t stop kids from socializing that’s the parent’s responsibility. But they can’t blame the school system if they get infected! Is it a hardship yes for everyone involved but it was the smart thing to do… close the school and ask parents to parent their kids

We are seeing these numbers, and an increase, only due to TESTING. As a nurse, there is nowhere near enough testing happening, and until testing is readily available, we should assume everyone has it. Even when people are meeting criteria, and have symptoms, I am seeing no, every little testing being done. I am unsure why the CDC HAS. DENIED testing when requested by physicians due to symptoms. This virus is EVERYWHERE, and many have it without knowing. The only way they can slow it, is to track it, and this cannot be done without TESTING, TESTING, TESTING!!!!

I completely agree, America has over 15000 confirmed cases and to see
some of the news on television, you’d think we’ve got maybe 50-100 confirmed cases nation wide.

Not travel related? Well the teen may not have been overseas, but I’m sure he or she “traveled” somewhere in the public square and was exposed to someone who is a carrier of the virus. Could have been at the grocery store, the beach, or even the library. Stay at home people, and get off the streets unless you’re “in extremis”.

Closing the schools was useless. The kids don’t sit around the house and study or keep themselves isolated. They run in packs and socialize with their friends. Luckily the virus very rarely causes major problems for young folks.
