What are you suggesting? An armed sheriffs deputy at the front door of every person who tests positive? First of all we don’t have an unlimited amount of men and women who are deputies. Not to mention, this isn’t Russia. The Health Dept is in touch with each patient-or their guardian. They are told to stay home 14 days. You can ‘guard’ every one of them. That is ludicrous.

We are in a small city, so it's easy to control of the people if they close the escambia county border no more people can come or leave form here and if every store have a police officer inside to make sure not a lot of people there I think it might help to reduce of the cases effects by the virus. It is just my idea it might help. Thank you.

@Linda Franza
Most of the information coming out about masks that I've seen is that they are only effective for those already infected as they block the droplets and other expelled germs from landing on surfaces, other people, etc. and infecting them. Wearing a ill-fitting mask with gaps and such or masks not certified to a high-filtration level and properly sealed is a pointless exercise in my opinion. You are much better served to wear gloves and not touch your face, sanitizing as you go, and of course, washing hands for 20 seconds when possible.

How is Escambia County going to get anything under control and stop the spread if we have no idea where these positive patients are going. If we knew, we probably would not go there especially the elderly. Also, everybody should be wearing masks, not just a few people. Why is this not made a rule?

So where are the 79 people who do not require hospitalization? Are they being guarded round the clock to assure they are not leaving their house? If not, it does not make any sense. You cannot expect for all these folks to have the decency and/or common sense to stay isolated.
