Sorry, if i were a lifelong Beulah resident, id rather just do what ive always done and wish all of you would go back up North or wherever you came from. However, im in Barrineau Park and already wanting to leave my lifelong home because of your "progress".

People should make sure to remember that all that these “ERs” do is delay definitive care if you’re having an emergency that requires more than a band-aid or stitches or maybe an antibiotic prescription (even those, frequently). If you present to one of these facilities with a legitimate emergency and it requires ANY sort of continuous care, whatsoever, you will require transport to another facility, thereby extending the time that it takes to get you to definitive care. The only method currently available for that transport is Escambia EMS, and they are already over taxed and under staffed due to wages that aren’t competitive, so it will often take quite a long time to get an ambulance to you to transport you to a facility that can provide definitive care. It’s also worth noting that since you are already under the care of a physician while at the “ER” your call will be the lowest priority.

Well I have extensive experience in the emergency departments both working and being a patient. Having that experience I would go to the main hospital and not a satellite, stand alone. The resources (surgery, cardiovascular and other emergent interventions) will not be there. Maybe the people who clog up the emergency departments with their non-emergent problems will use them and stay away from the main hospitals. Time will tell about if it helps the congestion in the EDs.

@unclem

You are a perfect example of why municipalities don’t hold the opinions of their customers in high regard. This is a great addition to the area. 9 Mile Road was bad before and it’ll be bad after, but now it will be bad but with the potential to provide life saving services.

@patient

That doesn’t have anything to do with the addition of a new ER

Nice to have, but when they charge $15,000 to find out you have a kidney stone, don't go unless you have no other option.

@ uncle M
    That is great news I assure you that if you had an emergency you will be glad they both were there and maybe closer to you. Evidently you haven't had to visit a local emergency room when the wait times can be hours. I welcome both of these facilities to the neighbor hood and if Baptist wants to build one I will welcome them with open arms.

And just about a mile away Scared Heart is building one as well. Nothing like making 9 mile worse then it is now. I know how I spelled Scared. Wonder when Baptist is going to build their's down the road?
