Good question!
Because now more than $550,000+ of our Local Option Sales Tax (may have gone up in the last year?) that was sold to the public as going to infrastructure costs is now approved to go to “economic development” expenditures to operate the Pensacola‐Escambia County Promotion and Development Commission (PEDC) and FloridaWest that suggests things like giving millions to build a hangar for a Singapore government owned aerospace company in the city.
(The public officials are on a trip for the second time in Singapore right now! )

Those bridges can wait apparently, even though infrastructure and public safety should be the *main* focus of our county leaders!
The bridges have been studied and a lot of them are in need of repair.

Local officials in Florida always seem to be living rather well for being in charge of communities with “no money.”

Just curious how often are the bridges in Escambia County inspected ? There has been a lot of closures in the last year or so . I’m wondering how did they get to the point of closures from one inspection til the next . Seems there had to be signs of rot way back and if so why wait to the point that some of these bridges appear to be in . Some of the pictures we have seen from this bridge and others in the past cause me to be very concerned.
Just me wondering ….
