This is a crime/people issue.. Not a gun issue. I have dozens of guns….. Not one has ever left the house and shot anyone…. Fix the people issue and. Putting a band-Aid on a amputation is useless also.

yep, i hope long term gun culture lives on. some people want it gone. they and their fellow comrades would have it so. don’t just depend on the NRA keep them at bay, support those pols that support our right to bear arms. or the Toms will have their way.

Unpopular opinion… Too many guns on the street easily obtainable by individuals intent on using them. Only long term solution is a combination of training and stricter guidelines to be able to obtain such weapons. And destroying the illegal weapons that are not properly registered. Any input is welcome, but the long term gun culture in this country needs to be addressed before to many more mass killings.

10 homicides this year is scary. If it continues like that, this is 19 per 100 000 individuals per year in Escambia County. The average for the country is 5.3

Spent 10 years in Escambia county. Am now in Chattanooga Tennessee.
The same goes on here almost everyday . Gang,drug shootings and no one will talk.
But at the same time complain about the crime and shootings in their neighborhood.
Guess it is the nature of the beast.

These that are addicted to drugs and need them, or need help, but will not or cannot get help: Why not lock them up, give them Methadone, teach them a trade, check out their performance and turn them loose, but monitor them for a long time to see if they can and will stay out of trouble. If not, lock them up and try again. If they still will not even try to change…………..just lock them up and hope they decide to change on their own IN JAIL. Quit making others that ARE contributing to their own families and society PAY FOR WHAT THE CRIMINALS KEEP ON DOING. We pay for protection. The way we handle this problem now, is obviously not working. Years ago, I saw the courts treating a young repeat offender like a mascot. NOT CUTE!!! No. Not one bit. All these years later, it still irritates me, when I think about it. UGH ! ! !

I am wondering, how many homicides were committed this year in Escambia FL? In other words, how many people have been killed this year so far in Escambia County?

A word to those who think it’s just another hoodlum that has been killed, no big deal. Those who killed him can kill you as well. They have no brakes.

It’s not the Sherriff’s Office who is at fault. Sheriff Morgan just said, again, in a press conference last week neither witnesses or surviving gunshot victims absolutely refuse to help investigators. They won’t give any suspect information. In most cases, everyone in the hood knows who the shooters are. However they fear for their own safety and/or will retaliate on their own. It just keeps going back and forth. So how do investigators work these cases with no description of the shooter, vehicle, etc… Almost impossible.
