Should have turned on front outside faucet closes to meter and left everything off inside to prevent issues.

Its conceivable to get hydraulic hammering, air moves easier and faster, as the incoming water quickly hits the fixture it can hit with enough force to damage it, similar to the effect of rapidly turning a fixture off and on, its hard on stuff. That all said, if this hurt a shower head, it probably had an issue prior.

So yeah my water head in my bathroom was jacked up to and it was a rare import from eastern Mongolia near the Patagonian islands it was valued at over 1.2 million I will also need the contractors name I feel some preparations are in order. We could settle out of court right now for 2 gallons of milk a pack of Newport’s and some Popeyes

Not sure about the “low pressure” comment, we had zero water for 5 hours plus black stuff flowing for a few minutes after the water returned. Still cloudy this morning.

The damaged water main allowed air into our water lines. The result was high pressure that destroyed our shower head in the master bathroom. I would like to know the name of the responsible contractor. He needs to replace our shower fixtures.

Thanks for the report. It happened around 10am and they had it repaired and flowing again at 3pm.
