The tint on the Sheriff’s Office tahoes is 33% and the
few Law Enforcement vehicles that have darker tint than the legal limit are exempt from the requirements and specifically allowed by Florida State Statute 316.29545(2).

All the while half of those Tahoe’s they drive around have 5% tint on them, Limo tint. I guess it’s ok for them to break the law.

Trying to figure out what constitutional law was broken… she was on a public road, possibly a threat to other drivers, too dark window tint can diminish her view of her surroundings. And a suspended license. .

Normally, I am a fan of law enforcement but not at the detriment of the Constitution.
I acknowledge that I was not on scene and I make this comment only based on the information in the article.
It does not seem like the officer had probable cause (PC) to search the vehicle. Smoking two cigarettes in six minutes means nothing. Acting nervous, is not PC.

Maybe she ended up giving consent, maybe the K9 came out a gave it a sniff. But I don’t see PC based on the article.

Talking about tinted windows. Do they make tints for windshields similar to eye glasses that would adjust automatically from light to dark? Driving East or West during sunrise/sunset is often difficult if you can’t see the road clearly.
