I live off of Woodbine and I see people use the turn lane as a passing lane almost daily. I was trying to make a left turn onto Woodbine heading towards Hwy. 90 at about 4:30 last week and a huge truck barreled down the passing lane making it impossible for me to take the chance to get out on the road. The people who travel down this road are in such a hurry all the time it was inevitable that a tragedy such as this was going to happen. I pray that people will eventually realize that other people are just as important as they are. More importantly I am praying for the Hill family in this situation that could have been avoided if others were not so selfish in their daily lives.

No one should be in that big of a hurry. Whatever she was headed to wasn’t worth a life. Now 3 families will suffer …maybe for ever. Both cars that struck this poor man and the family of the bad driver will pay with guilt and regret.Hope her punishment is more than a wrist slap.

In one instance I had a maniac driver pass me, they almost caused a wreck, and where did they go….they pulled into the Walmart….not as hospital…..I repeat…..Walmart!

Oooopps, Debra. You messed up. That extra few moments you tried to gain by being reckless ended someone else’s life and will affect yours for a long time. Something to think about people… slow down and relax. Not only did it take MUCH longer for her to get where she was going, whole families of people will now suffer from this tragedy.

No passing is clearly marked in multiple locations and I would wager she drives that stretch daily. Woodbine road is quickly becoming a very dangerous road in Pace only because of people’s impatience and as the population increases these problems will exponentially as well. I do not know if the man struck was dressed properly or following the law as a bike rider but it seems this tragedy could have been avoided.
