We taught our soldiers to treat each weapon as if it were loaded and never point it at anything you don’t intend to destroy. First safety rule when handling a weapon is keep your trigger finger away from the trigger and insure safety in on. The safety on all my weapons is my finger. The gun safety is useless if you don’t practice safe handling of the weapon. I hate this has happened but could have been avoided with safe handling of the weapon.

You should ALWAYS assume a gun is LOADED, including your own! And never point a gun at anything or anyone that you do not intend to destroy!

Why would someone pull a trigger pointed toward someone period? Some people shouldn’t own weapons and this is apparently one. It’s best to treat every weapon as if it’s loaded. I pray this woman will be okay.
