Archer road has been very dangerous for many years. It has no long turn lane going north, even after they redid the road a few years back
they did not put a turning lane in. It needs it real bad since many accidents have happened there,p some deadly. Why not put a long turning lane and perhaps the bus can pick up children on the turning lane, or have the bus stop actually on Archer Road and the bus turns off of Highway 29 and picks up the children on Archer Road. These are easy and simple solutions that should be done that can be done.

@Resident, that is really not a very good argument since it is mostly a divided highway, with multiple stop lights, caution lights, speed limits from 40-65mph, and many folk with homesteaded property with children adjoining highway 29.

As we were heating to pensacola we came upon this and was so glad to hear no children were on the bus and no one was hurt bad. And as we was returning home that very same day a school bus with children on board was making a right turn in front of Mc David store .The bus driver was in the left lane turning right she cut in front of a white car that was in the right lane headed toward century . My Brother was driving and he had to apply his breaks as so did a tranfurtruck to our left because this bus driver was in the wrong lane truing to make a u turn in front of a smaller white car . Bus Drivers should be tested yearly to insure the safety of our children and grand children .
Had she been the person in the white car been driving any faster she would have been under the middle of that school bus. All I can say is God was surely looking out for each and everyone in that bus .

Now that is ridiculous. If a kid lives on a 5 miles stretch of highway 29 with no cross streets, you want them walk along highway 29 for five mile to get a to a bus stop? Really? Thank about that. Does not work.

That’s a company car, I would bet money that an electronic device had something to do with the distraction smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Put them down people or pull over and conduct your business, then continue on your trip.

It’s easy to assume what we would or wouldn’t do in any given situation, especially when we’re not given all of the facts. I know this guy and he is one of the safest drivers on the road. He wasn’t distracted. There’s more to the story. Get the facts straight people! Thank God he is ok!!

Big, yellow, a school bus! Even if a bus is empty I always use extreme caution when driving near them. People who do not pay attention and cause accidents involving a bus need to retake the written and driving test. BIG..YELLOW..SCHOOL BUS and how do you not see that.
