Yea it’s just as narrow as some other streets in Pensacola but it has NO shoulders , just a 2 foot wall to keep you from plummeting off the side of the bridge! Big difference from running off into the grass. Right now Sept 20 I’ve been waiting one hour to get on the bridge st 9:30pm. It looks like a major accident. Praying all is well.

I feel like the bridge is going to be a great success. There are many upgrades that provide surface for emergency situations, cycles, breast walk and etc…
Overall; I understand why people are commenting on drunk drivers with no barrier wall. Regardless the county has made appropriate accommodations to serve the community the best that they can!
I’m totally happy with the way the bridge has turned out…

i dunno man, it just feels different on a long bridge. but you are right, it really is no different than a regular 4 lane.

I’m really glad they installed the plastic lane markers to divide opposing traffic. I was worried there might be no protection for both sides in the event of an accident.

Whats the difference driving on a 2 lane road where only inches separate you from a drunk driver? Or a 4 lane road where there is only a median?

Looks good so far. Glad I don’t need the bridge, I prefer to watch for awhile.
