Got t go with Paul on this, I also have been riding for over 50 years, had few spills and was glad I had a brain bucket on. When Florida repealed the helmet law I rode without one, but along came the wife, kids and now grandkids, I chose to protect myself when I ride so that I can possibly watch them grow, especially the granddaughter, I laugh when I see riders decked out in over the ankle leather boots to protect their feet, leather gloves to protect their hands but no skid lid to protect their head, and to say some one is a safety conscience but yet didn’t try to protect their skull is ludicrous. just as bad as riding in shorts and flip flops. Wish Robert a speedy recovery with no lasting injuries.

Paul…. how dare you assume what he wishes and what he doesn’t. Your comment is completely out of place and unwelcome. You may think you know it all but apparently in your 50+ years of existence you have failed to learn about empathy or compassion. Shame on you….. Robert is hands down one of the most safety conscious people I know when it comes to bike safety and is an amazing person. Please in the future exercise some good judgment with your comments with that oh so intelligent brain that your helmet is protecting.

I extend my prayers to Mr. Seemer and family. I pray for God’s powerful hand of healing to guide the Dr’s hand in every procedure that has to be performed. I pray that God gives all medical personnel involved in the care of Mr. Seemer the knowledge beyond human capacity to fill in the blanks for any unknowns during and after his care.

My husband was in a motorcycle crash exactly 7 days to this hour. He’s still making great strides in recovery. Every day he’s getting stronger. Prayer changes things. In all things pray and give thanks. God will work it out according to HiS Holy will and way. #TestimoniesEvolveFromTests

For all of your rude comments just remember his family can read them. Just remember if this was your husband, dad, son, brother,uncle you would not want people saying the things you all are saying. Instead of being rude how about pray that he recovers and that his family can stay strong through this hard time

For those saying helmets will save you life, guess what not always. My uncle was wearing his helmet when he went down and he still died from brain damage. Prayers for speedy recovery.

There are several other reasons people do not wear helmets. 1. Vanity, 2. “look at me; I’m cool,” 3. I am most likely to be over age 40.

fall off? well, let’s see: certain things can yank the handlebars right out of your hands, such as hitting the right shaped edge of pavement or bump, a piece of detritus or anything that could cause deflection the front wheel hard enough to cause a loss of control. a pothole, a speedbump hit at the wrong angle. need i go on?

Helmets save lives. I have a couple of them and if I’m riding, one of them is on my head. Serious question, How do you fall off of your motorcycle?

I just Don’t buy any argument for not wearing a helmet. I’m sure this guy wishes he was wearing one. I wear a full coverage and have no problem seeing out of it. Another old wives tale.. I’ve been riding for 50yrs and know a bit of what I speak.
