I started at 17 plus got a 1 for my a&p. In less than a year I completed my OJT’s required to promote and received a pretty big increase. st has chances for pay increases but a mechanic has to be willing to do the work to get it. an chance to train to be a master mechanic and receive that pay in 5 years sounds good to me. I think I’ll stick with ST. It’s a good learning experience and living. He was a hydraulics mechanic on fighter jets. He got married and has two children now. It was best to come home and be with his family for help with the children. Both parents working and family are the care takers for the children. Employers like STEngineering - his starting salary is $15.00 per hour with experience on jets and cars. Definitely not enough for keeping up a family. Time to find a better paying job. He will soon start classes seeking a surgical tech. position. Entry level is $20+ per hour. With overtime you can make more but they need to pay more to start with just to keep people around.
