Keep the dryer vent clear of lint. The heating element can become clogged with lint collected and start a fire. The lint should be cleared from inside the back of the dryer through the duct to the outside.

An air compressor can help blow the lint out and a wet/dry vac with a long hose can collect some of the lint.

My wife and I cleared our vent last year and got a 13 gal trash bag full of lint out. We decided to check on the lint after the dryer was slow in drying our clothes.

After doing this, our clothes dried in half the time.
