Maybe the woman didn't want to wait for it to pass. SO, she attempted to crawl under it. By the way, Trains can't move but in two directions. The woman can run away in many directions. AND, you first have to see a train to attempt to crawl under. Why would it be necessary to get on your hands and knees to crawl if she didn't see it? Well, she's not here to tell about it.
