He was framed for a crime he didn't commit... I know what some of you are thinking, "Yeah, right, that's what they all say." Well, think what you will about any of the inmates. They are still human beings created in the image and likeness of our Creator and Lord Jesus Christ. I don't have any details, but the inmate was stabbed in the face and later died from his injuries. The prisoners there have squalid living arrangements. They get scrapes of old uniforms to wear. They barely have enough food to sustain life. They have no environmental controls in their cells or pods. They get heat rash in the summer, freeze in the winter. If their shoes get holes, their feet get wet...no replacements. They have nothing to do for days on end. They are sleep deprived and afraid to close their eyes when they have the opportunities. Can any of you really be so heartless to deprive people of their basic human rights? Our prisons need help. Our prisoners need help. There should be rehabilitation centers for addicts. Education for the underprivileged. Nursing homes for the aged. And work for the able-bodied. Helpful training to keep these guys from becoming repeat offenders and for those that are not able to be rehabilitated, swift and just punishment Our prisons are dirty, undermanned, and unsafe for both the security guards and the prisoners. Just because we do not pay state income tax does not mean we don't pay taxes. Every time you buy something at the store you pay taxes and the state collects billions in other ways as well. @Mike

Most of you do not have a problem with a spending tax dollars to rescue an animal. Some inmates provide basically free labor for the state. Senators and Representatives get free medical care and money for doing nothing. Individuals and businesses profit off of inmates. Ask those who profit off of inmates to pick up the tab. I KNOW because I am that tax paying citizen. Oh yea, I have health insurance, but it only paid somewhere around $6,000,00 on the bill. Guess who gets left with the remaining balance to be paid. You guessed it, ME!! So I send them a few bucks every month and will be paying on this debt until I am old and gray. Where in the scheme of things is this right? As a nurse, it was funny to walk in a room and see everybody sleeping!
