Not knowing the circumstances about this altercation, I don't think I would file a restraining order. That puts one body or more out of the house. There are too many people living on the streets now. It would only make the person who the restraining order is on very mad. Tempers and tantrums start coming out in a case like this and could end up with someone seriously injured or dead. Seek out for counseling and possibly a minister would be willing to drop in and talk with them. They all three live together.
