@Amazed

A a paramedic with a husband who works in law enforcement and having worked shortly as a corrections officer I will tell you that it happens more than you would think. When I reported to work every day, starting at orientation day, my car was gone over and I had to go through an metal detector just like everybody else. I removed my boots, belt and jewelry. A wand was moved over my body. If I brought a lunch box it was even xray’d and looked through. We were under video surveillance every where we went as were the visitors and inmates. On orientation day they fired a young kid because he had a pocket knife visible in his unlocked truck. Duhhhh. Hmmmm Doesn’t sound like it would be any easier for a c/o to snuggle it in either.

@Shay Hmmmm... guess you missed the part where the metal detectors alerted the CO's of the contraband and they found it before they got into visitation. If they had made it into the visiting room, they would have had to retrieve the phones without being noticed by the CO's watching, then transferred them to the inmate, who upon leaving visitation, would have ALSO had to pass a metal detector with the cell phones in a cavity... WHOA.... Doesn't sound very easy for visitors to get things like that in to me!
