This is why Florida has the forestry division. It has more firefighters than any other state who just do wildfires

I don’t burn anything now but back when… I always thoroughly soaked a perimeter around the area we were using. The water hose was always on hand and the kids were told to be prepared to call 911 if we yelled for them to do so. It’s unfortunate that some of our fire departments are stretched so thin. These people are risking their lives as much as any emergency worker. I sincerely appreciate all they do.

You have to remember most of the fire departments in the county are manned by volunteers, sometimes they simply aren’t available and the closest department *that is staffed* has to respond.

Station 2 never responded to the call, first on scene was Bellview. More reason for the county to build a station in that area and man it with full time paid crews. Volunteers have there place, but that area is way to big and busy to rely on only them.

So where were the crews from Station 2? How come units from other districts had to respond from a further distance? Is there a lack of funding for a full time crew for the Beaulah fire station? Is the BOCC careless when it comes to the safety of their own citizens? I guess only time will tell…
