<description>I think it’s great that the state of Florida is actually coming together as a whole and are ready to take action for those of us who are suffering the worst from Hurricane Michael’s devastation. What the nation doesn’t realize is that this storm is far worse than even Hurricane Katrina back in 2005, however, it didn’t receive the publicity it should have to make our country aware of the extreme suffering that was taking place. Many residents, including my very own family, went weeks, even months without running water and power. The most affected citizens were still running their small means of a home by gas or propane generators. This does mean one generator per family due to the overwhelming need for them. Many families, mostly the low income families, weren’t even given that luxury. The nation has pretty much turned a blind eye to a state of mass destruction. I am a resident of Panama City, which is one of the hardest hit areas other fhan Mexico Beach itself, where Michael made landfall. There is still debris everywhere making it seem as if the storm just hit 2 weeks ago. FEMA and all the storm recovery trucks will be pulling out of Panama City today and those who still need help are not being acknowledged due to lack of money and status. We’re in need of our country being aware of the sitaution and helping to pick up the pieces we have left of what once was. I’m not saying we need a handout, we need a handup. Speaking on behalbof those that I know have no voice.

Thanks,
