Speaking solely as a Tribal Member... (And I know I speak on behalf of many others but not all). I am completely unsure what CIEDA has in mind when many similar purchases are made. We The People are not involved or included in the decision making process or demographics, we usually get notified of PCI /CIEDA purchases when the general public does. A commentor earlier used the word MONOPOLY, this seems like a very appropriate word to use, except most Monoplolies require a lot of money (working capital), not just a great line of credit or some wealthy investors. I am grateful for our success and I'm proud we offer many jobs to the community and state, but I often ask "What are we doing? "We seem to have no set goal, only buy, buy, buy. I challenge any CIEDA member to share the full vision of "ITS"actions with PCITM OR The General Public, their work is under the darkness to all. Just another FYI unrelated to our latest motel acquisition, OWA our Theme Park loses more money than probably any business of its size in The State of Alabama, but we have some pretty awards hanging on the wall for its State Contribution. The purchase of this motel in Atmore City Limits is equivalent to a one room shack compared to some of our Resort Properties We've acquired (public record or not) Just one TM's thoughts. God Bless

To answer the question about property taxes.

They pay property taxes on land not on the reservation. That property isn’t on the reservation so they will pay taxes.

Not a tribal member or employee.

Just don’t like misconceptions

The previous owners did not bail out quickly. It was a big decision to sell from what everybody was told. Those parking lots use to always stay full. Not so much now. Maybe they should have kept the Manager that ran both of them to help continue running them.

The original owners were more than likely offered a purchase price they would have been fools to pass up. I’d imagine, this purchase will allow for the CIEDA to offer off site hotel/casino packages for events.
