How many of us have furniture that was in the homes of our grand parents? Such beautiful, high quality furniture it never wore out. When I see the furniture available nowadays I head to the Mennonite or Amish farms while on vacation to buy a needed piece. Furniture from China that falls apart in 2 years is a shame but as long as consumers buy it, people deserve what they get. I wish some of those employees would try to build beautiful and solid furniture. Right now I need a simple wooden swing I would pay good money for.

The Company owns 4 other factories is the US-two in MS, one in Galax VA and one in Tampa. Those lines are being expanded. The Bay Minette product was not profitable and was produced at a loss for a decade. It is being discontinued. the company looked at adding product lines like those other factories, but the building would not support them and required skilled upholstery worker. So made more sense to expand in the other factories. Most products are American made, but the company does import some solid wood products from Asia.

Those jobs are not going anywhere, but being entirely eliminated.

The import so much junk from china that cost wise even cheap built furniture at the BM plant could not compete.
I worked there long ago and we take a load out and bring a 1/2 a load back of rejects and most of those were from the BM plant.
Stuff from china was better made.... Still junk but.
Hate to hear of people loosing their jobs.
MAYBE a BETTER company will come in and offer REAL work there and stop with junk produces
