I love this family. The person who called had no choice. No one knows what would have happened had they not called. One does not have time to think about it. The person. who died was a friend but sadly he made a choice, one that cost their own life. Thank God the other family member is alive. Things may have been even more tragic had this one family member not made that call. It certainly is NOT their fault but the one who died is the one accountable. The police did the only thing they could.

I guess I should have said the family may second guess their decision to call the deputies, and wonder if the situation could have been de-escalated without this happening… it’d be a natural thing to have those thoughts if it happened to any of us and a member of our own family. I meant it respectfully, and was saying I do feel for them. I didn’t know him personally but have a lot of friends who know him and his wife, and it’s a tragedy for all involved.

The family should not feel guilty at all. They did the right thing. The family probably saved a lot of innocent lives. Prayers to all.

Good job LEO, you were given no other choice but to respond to a obvious threat. No human likes to take another humans like but at times you are not given any other choice. The individual should have followed verbal commands.

I don’t think his/her comment was anything but compassion for all involved. Believe it or not there are a lot of people who wouldn’t have called the police. Sad situation all the way around.
